Emanuel School boasts a vibrant history of growth and innovation. Founded in 1982 by Rabbi Brian Fox and leaders from Temple Emanuel Woollahra, the School opened. In 1983 with just 53 students in Years K-6. Today, it flourishes with almost 920 students, supported by our Principal, Linda Emms, and an exceptional staff cohort.
We have continually expanded our facilities as a result of increased enrolments and the community’s support of the School’s philosophy. Key milestones in Emanuel School's journey include the establishment of the Kornmehl Centre Emanuel Pre-school in 1999, and the opening of the Kleinlehrer Family Science Building in 2011. The 2015 inauguration of the Kleinlehrer Family LINC Building (Learn, Inspire, Nurture, Create) marked another significant leap forward. This state-of-the-art facility features eight flexible classrooms, an exceptional performance space, extensive Art Precinct, a welcoming Library, and Wellness Centre, all meticulously designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative learning, while enhancing students' overall wellbeing.
The Innovation Centre, opened in 2018, provides High School students with interactive spaces dedicated to experimenting with ‘impossible’ ideas and discovering new ways of thinking, based on the Design Thinking model.
The Roth Segal B’Yachad Building, completed in 2023, is a shining example of Emanuel School's commitment to innovation and excellence, made possible by generous community support. Affectionately known as "B’Yachad," this impressive three-storey facility features exceptional learning spaces, including the Primary Imaginarium, a hub for creativity and exploration. With expansive collaboration areas designed to foster teamwork and interactive learning, B’Yachad stands as a testament to our commitment to providing a dynamic and inspiring educational environment for all students.
